She is survived by: her daughter Carin Higgins (Dan) of Verona, WI.; her grandchildren, Andrew Higgins (Amanda) of Stoughton, WI., Lindsay Palutke (Jonathan) of Lodi, WI. and Erica Casey (Sean) of Chicago, IL.; her great grandchildren, Peter Higgins and Maria Higgins; her brother Martin Burkhardt (Kathy) of Wausau, WI.; and her caregivers, Agrace HospiceCare, Fitchburg and Janette.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Janette's honor to the Carbone Cancer Center - University of Wisconsin-Madison and Agrace HospiceCare, Fitchburg, WI.

“Janette was a member of our "community", Oakmont Senior Community. She was beloved by so many and a friend to all. Janette loved working on jigsaw puzzles in our dining room area. She could be seen there at many times during the day, working diligently on a complex puzzle with her friends. She always had a kind word and enjoyed visiting in our foyer with other residents. Janette will be missed by many. I am sending comforting thoughts to all of her family at this difficult time. Jane C”
