He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Fortun and Delilah Fortun of West Prairie, WI.; his daughter Marla Jeane Fortun-Dopson; his great grandchild Murcia Gladys Glee Strothman; his son-in-law Gregory Martin Dopson; his siblings, Mildred "Mugs" Lang (Al), Popeye Fortun (Dolly) and Lee Fortun; and his in-laws, Boyd, Mona Pellett, Gerald Pellett (Carol), Myron Pellett (Jean), Merlin Pellett, Delburn, Juanita, Bob Manka, Arlene Spencer (Bob), Evelyn, Harley, Carl Burdick, Geneva Parduhn (Bob) and Marjorie McCoy (Tim).

He is survived by: his sons, Marty Fortun (Lisa) and Rocky Fortun (Amy); his grandchildren, Roni Appleman (Aaron), Missea Strothman (James), Timothy Fortun, Todd Fortun (Courtney), Matthew Fortun, Tiffany Fortun, Baylee Grimsled, Raevyn Hicks, Daija Mc Namer, Terrio Henderson and Naysion Henderson; his great grandchildren, Metayah, Majesta, Mohnee Strothman, Jack Appleman, Rowan, Xander Fortun, Landon and Lilly Kraabel; and his sisters-in-law, Gloria Pellett and Ruth Pellett.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 23rd 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Saturday, October 24th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Viola United Methodist Church (225 N Washington St, Viola, WI 54664). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 24th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, Martin's last wish was for his 9-year-old great-granddaughter, Mohnee "Macs," to be healthy again.
