He is survived by: his wife Bonnie M. Backhaus; his stepchildren, Adam Bluhm of Adell and Danielle Bluhm of Plymouth; his stepgrandchildren, Cameron, Thomas and Caleb; his sisters, Linda Nimmer (John), Sandra Korb (Dean) and Susan Klas (Peter); and his siblings-in-law, Brenda Eisentraut (Dave), Betty Meyer (Scott), Donald Backhaus (Candice) and Dennis Backhaus (Leslie). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Dan's name.
