He was loved and cherished by many people including : his parents, Anders Hokanson and Anselle Hokanson (Davis); his wife Andrea; his children, Sue Lauer (Ray), Heidi Hokanson and Kevin Hokanson (Beth); his grandchildren, Alex Lauer, Maria Danielson (Loren), Greg Lauer (Gabby), Katie Lauer, Elizabeth Hokanson and Ryan Hokanson; his great grandchildren, Giuliana Lauer and Isabella Danielson; and his parents-in-law, Barbara Parker, Brian, Carole Adam, Ellen, Steve Bowen, Dick and Mary Ann Petersen. He was also cherished by nieces and nephews.
