He was predeceased by : his parents, Thomas R. Bernier and Pearl Bernier (Shelton); his brothers, Joseph and Dennis; and his stepdaughter Karine Melby.

He is survived by : his former life partner Jeannette Tremblay; his wife Janice Anderson Seiffert; his children, Evy Ebinal (Mark), Adam Bernier (Brittany Kipp) and Ben Bernier; his stepson Lance Seiffert (Kendal Vaughn); his brothers, Thomas J. Bernier (Brenda), David Bernier (Nancy), John Bernier and James Bernier; and the mother of his children Jeannette Bernier. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
