He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Whitney and Mildred Whitney (Brown); his grandson David Whitney; and his siblings, Ed Whitney (Norma), Irving Whitney, Manard Whitney, Carl Whitney, Harold Whitney (Faye), Myrtle Houlihan (Charles) and Marion Pohl (Don).
He is survived by: his wife Marliene (Fortmann) of Matthew's Evangelical Lutheran Church; his children, Ruth DeBot (James) of Westville, Indiana, Mildred Bowey (Harry) of Princeton, Wisconsin and Michael Whitney (Vicki) of Pewaukee, Wisconsin.; his grandchildren, Walter Ragland (Deanna), Karrieann Fritch (Josh), Jennifer DeBot, Michael DeBot, Jason Bowey, Justin Bowey (Alexandrea), Kayla Ninneman (Adam) and Kyle Whitney (Jackie Armstrong); his great grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Riley, Marilyn, Hazel, Louise, Sawyer, Conor, Coreen, Colin, Finley, Gracie and Sophia; his siblings, Norman Whitney (Jan) and Ola Pfaff (Jim); Elaine Koeppler and Robert Fortmann (Linda). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
