He was predeceased by: his father Rodney Thomas "Tom" (Tom); his brother-in-law Garey Kirchoff; and his close friend Dane Hendricks. He is survived by: his mother Donna Mae Derra (Tupper); his wife Carla Young; his son Lucas Derra (Melissa); his granddaughter Rosie Derra; his stepson Michael Young (Heather); his stepgrandchildren, Connor Young, Mackenzie Young and Wyatt Young; his sister Julie Hiebing; his siblings-in-law, Curt (Joan), Cheryl (John), Helayne, Cay (Ken) and Christina (Chris); his nieces, Ashley (Lili) and Marissa; and his caregiver Juanita. He is also survived by many extended family members and friends.
