He was predeceased by: his parents, Arden Pohl and Helen Pohl (Grimm); and his daughter Dr. Holly Pohl (Marion Pohl). He is survived by: his son Rand; and his stepchildren, Phillip Nehs (Andrea), Esther Pollnow, Rebecca Campbell (Greg), Timothy Nehs (Debbie), John Nehs (Jenny) and Jim Nehs (Sherri).
