She was predeceased by: her parents, Wilfred Nickels and Adeline Nickels (Wolff); and her brother Leroy. She is survived by: her husband John Pirkel of Bernard's Catholic Church; her children, Chris Pirkel (Agnes McConville), Tim Pirkel (Tammy), Mark Pirkel, Jane Kurth, Cathy Pirkel (Mary Kamuchey) and John Pirkel (Robin); her siblings, Will Nickels (Kathy), Hugo Nickels (Nellie) and Marie Uselman; and her sister-in-law Pat Nickels. She is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the St. Bernard's Catholic Church (114 S Church St, Watertown, WI 53094). A memorial service was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the same location.
