He was predeceased by: his parents, Oscar Budewitz and Alma Budewitz (Braunschweig); his wife Shirley Budewitz; his siblings, Herb Budewitz (Viola), Leona Fredrick (Walter), Luella Wolter (Arthur), Adeline Kuehl (Armand), Marcella Budewitz, Norma Rantzow (Orlando), Delores Schultz (Merlin), Mable Surdick (John) and Blondina Budewitz; and his siblings-in-law, Lucille Preuss (Max), Lorraine Kulke (Harvey), Donald Christian (Virginia), Wilmer Christian (Arlene) and Eileen Cairns (Ralph).
He is survived by: his children, Rick Budewitz (Kim), Marie Martin, Susan Budewitz (Paul Duffy), Jeff Budewitz (Sandi), Michael Budewitz (Jayne) and Karen Kahlhamer; and his grandchildren, Kyle Budewitz (Jennifer), Trevor Budewitz (Kayla), Ricki (Drew Colman), Valerie Westenberg (Nick), Jamie Martin, Aron Martin, Lisa Martin, Michael Budewitz, Mason Budewitz, Addison Kahlhamer, Katrina Kahlhamer, Preston Kahlhamer (Kaitlyn) and Colton Kahlhamer (Meredith). He is also survived by 10 great-grandchildren; as well as other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held on Saturday, October 17th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the St. Luke's Lutheran Church (301 Clark St, Watertown, WI 53094). A funeral service was held on Saturday, October 17th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 2:45 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Saturday, October 17th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 3:30 PM at the Glenview Memorial Gardens (W1219 Glenview Ave, Ixonia, WI 53036). A burial was held on Saturday, October 17th 2026 at 4:00 PM at the same location.
