We announce the death of William J. Rex (Watertown, Wisconsin), who passed away on September 15, 2026, at the age of 86. William will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. William will be remembered for the impact he had on the lives of those around him. Friends, family, and colleagues will cherish their memories and the time shared. Those who knew William will remember moments of kindness, warmth, and presence. Though words cannot fully capture his life, the legacy of connections and experiences remains. William’s absence will be deeply felt by those who valued his companionship.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Albin Rex and Joyce Rex (Dilley). He is survived by: his wife Eileen Rex; his son Bill Rex (Angela); his stepchildren, Gregg Simons (Kris), Lynn Zastrow and Candy Tuler; his sister Leslie Evans; his stepson Scott Simons; and his stepson-in-law Dean Zastrow. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and step-grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren; as well as nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Hafemeister Funeral Home (611 E Main St, Watertown, WI 53094). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 11:45 AM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM at the Glenview Memorial Gardens (W1219 Glenview Ave, Ixonia, WI 53036). The military honors will be held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the American Legion Post #189.
