He was predeceased by: his parents, William Whitley and Helen Whitley (Sudak); his brother Greg Whitley; his parents-in-law, Ralph and Jacqueline Pfister; and his brother-in-law Dave Pfister.
He is survived by: his wife Diane Pfister; his children, Kimberly Buerkley (John), Andrea Ferguson (Campbell), Lee Whitley (Bridget), Wyatt Whitley and Brenna Whitley; his grandchildren, Taylor (Mallory), Sierra, Campbell and Holden; his great grandchildren, Tilly and Graham; his sister Janice Holloway (Steve); his siblings-in-law, Jill Paulsen (Tom), John Pfister (Kelly), Carla Walsh (Bill Williams) and Tess Pfister; and his pets, Beau and Julie. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
