He was predeceased by: his parents, Ferdinand (Marie Erdmann) and Milwaukee; his grandson Roger Menzel; and his brother Richard Erdmann. He is survived by: his wife Clara Erdmann; his children, Sandra Matte (Terry Helmbrecht), Cary Erdmann (Karen), Susan Menzel (Peter), Julie Glazewski (Dennis) and Jean Dlapa (Steve); his grandchildren, Leah Evenstar, Joshua Erdmann (Meghan), Therese Joiner (Steven), Jacob Menzel (Kelli), Catherine Levine (Matthew), Roxanna Menzel, Nolan Glazewski (Alyssa), Kelsey Glazewski, Jordan Glazewski, Cait Mertens (Jordan), Cortney Perez (Noe), Connor Dlapa and Carter Dlapa; his great grandchildren, Sage, Iris, Ember Mertens, Jace Perez, Aria, Leo Menzel and Carson Glazewski; and his sister-in-law Lois Erdmann. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.
