He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence E. Smith and Pauline R. Smith (Kaiser); and his sisters, Sandra Shurtz and Angela Ricchio. He is survived by: his children, Cecelia Hamilton of Menomonee and Eric H. Smith of Waupaca, Wisconsin; his stepchildren, Kiara Callaway of Independence, Dominique Robertson of Cedar Rapids and Ethan Roepke of Waupaca, Wisconsin; his stepgranddaughter Aubriella Callaway; and his siblings, Stacey Smith of Aurora, Diana Gates (Gerald) of Aurora, Peggy Eilers of Hazleton, Kelly Smith of Oelwein, James Smith of Reno, David Smith of Oelwein and Robert Smith (Rhonda) of Amherst, Wisconsin. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
