Eileen Perket Obituary
Eileen Perket was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She died September 5, 2026, at home at the age of 87. Eileen was the first female employee in the plant at the Waupaca Foundry and worked her way up from maintenance electrician to foreman to electrical technician. Prior to retirement, she was responsible for technical communications between the computer and the DISAs used in creation of the iron castings.
In 2022 Eileen was recognized during National Women's History Month for her pioneering efforts at the Foundry. Her interview was posted on YouTube.
Eileen loved babies and was a volunteer client advocate at the Pregnancy Information Center of Waupaca. She fostered two teenagers and cared for her oldest grandson for two years.
After retirement, Eileen spent many hours knitting shawls that were given to people in the community who were sick or otherwise in need.
She is survived by her children, Natalie (Dwight) Iwasa, Scot Perket, Kristine (Rolf) Carson and Brian (Jenny) Perket; siblings Wayne (Pam) Connors, Lois (Mike) Freeland, Bev Beyer and Doug (Sue) Connors; grandchildren Nathan Gatten, Orion and Asa Iwasa, Neil, Abbigail and Lauren Perket, and dozens of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Terrance Connors, and sister, Phyllis Granowski.
Services will be held 1 p.m. Sunday, October 18, at Maplecrest Funeral Home in Waupaca.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in her memory to Gilda's Club Madison, Wisconsin, a public charity that supports women and others who have cancer.
