He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Opal and Alma Opal (Kramer); his wife Virginia VerHagen; his granddaughter Sara Wolfe; his brothers, Harry Opal and Arthur Opal; and his siblings-in-law, Wayne Bachor, Jerry Snider, Joe Pankratz and Shirley Opal.
He is survived by: his children, Todd Opal (Kris), Michelle Opal (Mitch Bottomley), Madeleine Opal (Bob Procario), Maureen Roux (Bob) and Tim Opal (Lori); his grandchildren, Blake Opal-Wahoske (Brett), Jason Wolfe, Carly Plamann (Andy), Austin Opal, Asha Opal, Alec Roux and Jacob Opal; and his sisters, Rose Pankratz, Eileen Lile (Don), Nancy Corbis (Mike), Charlene Snider, Shirley Schrof and Carol Bachler. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
