We are sad to announce that on January 11, 2026, at the age of 76, John M. Schmidt of Wausau, Wisconsin passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence Schmidt and Martha Schmidt (Wiersma); his in-laws, Leonard and Rosella Peche; his niece Amy Schmidt; and his brother-in-law Alan Peche.
He is survived by: his wife Beverly "Peachie" Peche of Wausau; his children, Josh Schmidt (Rebecca) of West Allis and Jessica Schmidt of Wausau; his grandsons, Oliver and Dylan; and his siblings, Peggy Erickson of Medford, Susan Jecevicus (Peter) of Colby, Linda Geiger of Marshfield, Rocky Schmidt (Bobbi) of Phillips, Jeri Schmidt (Bill) of Abbotsford, Judy Sebold (Mark) of Phillips and Carol Beyer (Dan) of Medford. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
