He was predeceased by: his parents, Alden Petterson and Agnes Petterson (Hettinga); his wife Donna Mae Fitzgerald; and his granddaughter Nicole. He is survived by: his children, Chris Petterson (Laura), Kathy Petterson (Mel), Dan Petterson (Sue), Roxann Mulry (Pat), Michelle Ruenger (Kathy) and Patti Olson (Tammy); and his sister Francis Carmichael (James). He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
