He was predeceased by: his parents, Leo Buchberger and Florence Buchberger (Graveen); his wife Ramona Bauer; his siblings, Grace Rauscher, Delores Jablonski (Michael), Marlene Buchberger and Donald "Don" Buchberger; his parents-in-law, Theodore "Ted" Bauer and Irene Bauer; his brothers-in-law, Richard Bauer (Maxine), Lamar Bauer (Nancy) and Kenneth Bauer (Carol); and his nephew Randy Bauer.
He is survived by: his children, Dr. Brian Buchberger (Lisa), Shelly Prochnow (Michael) and Kim Griffith (James "Mike") of Zimmerman, MN; his grandchildren, Ryan Buchberger (Melissa), Jessica Hansen (Joseph) and Cassie Rieth (Mark); his great grandchildren, Hunter Buchberger, Miles and Reese Hansen; his stepsiblings, Ric Zastrow (Joan) and Mary Lemirand; and his siblings-in-law, Robert Rauscher and Arlene Buchberger. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 13th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Homes and Crematory (1302 N 6th St, Wausau, WI 54403). A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, October 13th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home (1302 N 6th St, Wausau, WI 54403).
