He was predeceased by: his parents, Oscar Dirks and Leila Dirks (Richter); his grandparents, Hedwig and William Richter; his in-laws, Ben and Betty Stubinski; his sister Diane Blume; his brothers-in-law, Benedict Stubinski (Marsha) and William "Buff" Kuehlman; and his nephew Jeremy Sonntag.
He is survived by: his wife Sue; his children, Matthew Dirks (Jen), Michelle "Micki" Luebbe (Crispin), Joshua Dirks and Kelin "Kelly" Dirks; his grandchildren, Christian Dirks (Rachel), Emelie Dirks, Spencer Luebbe and Adalyn "Adie" Dirks; his great grandchild Remington; his siblings, Ken Dirks (Jean), Dan Dirks, Justine Stolze (Bob), Nancy Loker (Mark) and Annette Krautkramer (Pat); and his siblings-in-law, Mark Blume, Janice Matis (Harry) and Carrie Zelazoski (Ben).
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 6th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Peter Lutheran Church (2822 N 6th St, Wausau, WI 54403). A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 6th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
For 18 years, Ron and Sue were involved in the Alzheimer's research program at UW Madison.
