With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Joseph Peter Smith of Wautoma, Wisconsin, born in Rockford, Illinois, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on March 31, 2026 at the age of 85. As we bid adieu to Joseph's earthly form, let us not dwell on the void left in his wake, but rather celebrate the legacy of love and inspiration Joseph has bequeathed us. For though he may have departed from our sight, his spirit remains a timeless beacon, guiding loved ones through the labyrinth of life's journey.
He was predeceased by: his mothers, Faye Smith and Mary Smith; his son Patrick Smith; and his brothers, Elmer Smith and Francis Smith.
He is survived by: his wife Nancy Smith; and his children, Michael Smith (Eva), Matthew Smith (Rebecca) and Kathleen Reinecke (Joseph). He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
