Carol L. Winters Obituary
Carol Lee (nee Spalding) Winters was born to eternal life on September 26, 2025 at the age of 84.
Beloved wife of 62 years to George A. Winters. Loving mother to Rosalind (Paul) Skornia and Julie (Corey) Abts. Treasured grandmother to Mollie (Luke) Kolstad and Libby Abts. Dear sister in law to Darlene (Nick) Gosh and Mark (Patti) Mace. Further survived by other relatives and friends.
Carol was born on January 11, 1941 in Milwaukee, WI daughter of David and Emma (nee Lemke) Spalding, who preceded her in death. Beloved sister of the late Joan (William) Albrecht and late June (Arnold) Ericsen. Cherished daughter in law of the late Marlowe and Jean Mace.
Carol graduated from Milwaukee Lutheran High School in 1959 and later attended Prospect Hall where she became a legal secretary. Carol went on to work for over 40 years as a legal secretary, where she formed deep friendships and left a lasting impact on everyone she worked with.
Carol had a rare gift for connection. She was a cherished wife, a devoted sister, a loving mother and grandmother, and a proud aunt to many nieces and nephews. Just as important to her were the countless friendships she formed—many stretching back to childhood—which became a source of joy, laughter, and unwavering support throughout her life.
Visitation Friday, October 3, 2025 from 10:00 AM until Time of Service at 12:00 PM at Schmidt & Bartelt Funeral Home, 10121 W. North Avenue, Wauwatosa, WI 53226. In true Carol fashion, there will be a luncheon to celebrate her life following the service at Alioto's Restaurant, 3041 N. Mayfair Road, Wauwatosa, WI 53222.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, 10025 W. North Ave, Wauwatosa, WI 53226, where Carol was a devoted member for over 50 years.
