We announce the death of Richard Joseph Merkwae of Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, who passed away on October 2, 2026, at the age of 80. Richard will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Richard’s absence will be deeply felt by those who valued his companionship.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Valentine and Ruth; and his brother Jack (Lindy). He is survived by: his children, Billy Sparks and Amanda; his grandchild Gabrijela; and his wife Lindy.
A memorial gathering was held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM and at 2:00 PM at the Becker Ritter Funeral Home & Cremation Services (14075 W North Ave, Brookfield, WI 53005).
