He is survived by: his children, Suzanne Jessen (James), Gerald Schmidt (April), Thomas Schmidt, Rose Nelson (Greg), James Schmidt (Denise) and Anthony Schmidt; his grandchildren, Andrea Jessen, Melissa Pollard (Robert), Chris Jessen (Brittany Kobiske), Jennifer Schmidt Bellar, Matthew Schmidt, Brittany Garrett (Anthony), Michaela Nelson, Alec Nelson (Meagan), Jessie (Karlie Grahn), Erin Davisson (Vince), Eric Schmidt and Ryan Schmidt (Emma Kubal); his great grandchildren, Miley Schmidt, Jake Schmidt, Chloe Bellar, Sophia Pollard, Hans Pollard, Sawyer Nelson and Finan Davisson; his sister Arlene Deuber; and his siblings-in-law, Sally Retzlaff, Mary Bozo, Betty Schmidt, Dorothy Schmidt, Art Retzlaff and Marc Bozo. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
