He was predeceased by: his parents, John Engelhardt and Marjorie Engelhardt (Johnson); his brother Greg Engelhardt; and his father-in-law Paul Matenaer. He is survived by: his children, Matthew Engelhardt (Jessica) and Brooke Happel (Justin); his grandchildren, Miller Guy Happel, Alice Marjorie Happel, Kellan Thomas Engelhardt and Celia Belle Engelhardt; his sister Susie Kiss (Alex); and his mother-in-law Janice Matenaer (Koth). He is also survived by his sisters and brothers-in-laws that he loved as though they were his own siblings; beloved nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

The accomplishment he relished most was providing them with the foundation and support to fully appreciate and experience life and travel.
