He was predeceased by: his parents, John J. and Mary M. (Nee Martinez); his wife Gloria Canales (Nee Wicklund); and his siblings, Grace, Ann, Lucy, Jesse, David, Sal, Danny and Ray.
He is survived by: his children, Jackie Hayes (Patrick), Alan Canales (Jenni Cramer) and Gail Kowalkowski (Kevin); and his grandchildren, Bethany Vieni (Jon), Michael Canales, Matthew Canales (Gianna Tarantino), Jacob Kowalkowski (Hannah), Callie Hayes, Tyler Kowalkowski and Ana Hayes. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
