She was predeceased by: her parents, Allen Ruedt and Lucy Ruedt; her husband Bill Borges; her sister Carolyn Starr; and her grandson Connor Vliet.

She is survived by: her daughters, Susan Vliet (Dan) and Elizabeth Borges (John Kelm); her grandchildren, Sally (Chris Hegwood), George, Emily and Jack; her great grandchildren, Lucy and Henry Hegwood; her sister Rosalie Zahn (Tom); and her nieces and nephews, Tina Wallen (John), Andy Zahn, Jeff Starr (Laura) and Lynn Krummey (Mike).

Memorials in memory of Julie may be made to the Milwaukee Community Sailing Center.
