She was predeceased by: her son-in-law Patrick Marshalek; her sister Judith Schmidt (Powell); her brothers-in-law, Curtis Schmidt and Ken Hattori; her parents, Georgia Powell (Lochemes) and Leo Powell; and her stepmother Marie Powell (Lawrence).

She is survived by: her husband Ronald Diels; her sister Eileen Hattori (Powell); her children, Christine Erickson (Ralph), Beth Harrison (Todd), Rhonda Heisdorf (Ken), Tracey Walters (Todd), Gail Marshalek, Janie Diels (William Gorton) and Jim Diels; and her grandchildren, Thomas, Elisabeth, Emma Erickson, Cody, Graeme, Georgia Harrison, Brianne, Riley, Kallie Heisdorf, Jacob, Katie-Jo, Nicholas Walters, Emily, Grace, Abigail, Tyler Marshalek, Jake and Martha Gorton. She is also survived by her family, friends.
