She was predeceased by: her parents, Wilbur James "Jeff" Hughes and Edna Almeta; and her son Matthew John James. She is survived by: her husband Michael John; and her sisters-in-law, Cynthia Piccinini and Pamela Anne Norris (Randall). She is also survived by six grandchildren.
