He was predeceased by: his parents, Phillip Schmidt and Margaret Schmidt (Ansay); his sister Jean Ellen; and his grandparents, Edward, Marion Schmidt, Clem and Dorothy Ansay.
He is survived by: his sisters, Debra Stoneman of Texas, Patricia Vetter (Terry) of Beechwood and Carol Nigh (Jeff) of Germantown; his nieces and nephews, Nicole Danielson (Mike), Alyssa Nigh, Brad Vetter, Robert Stoneman and Alex Nigh; his great-niece Jada Danielson; his close friend Mary Kucharski; his uncle Paul Ansay (Sarah); and his friend Terry Krahn.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:45 PM at the Patten Funeral and Cremation Service (1315 W Washington St, West Bend, WI 53095). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
