He was predeceased by: his father Tony Staral Jr.; his father-in-law Elmer Schmitz; and his siblings-in-law, Frank Scheer and Mary Scheer (Schmitz). He is survived by: his wife Kathleen Staral (Schmitz); his sons, Jason Staral (Krista) and Chad Staral (Daniel Baker); his grandchildren, Addison and Blake Staral; his mother Marie Staral; his mother-in-law Helen Schmitz; his siblings, Gary Staral (Nikki) and Mary Henkle (Bill); his sisters-in-law, Patricia Rinzel (Steven) and Lynn Podzilni (Doug); his caregiver Chris; and his niece Smanatha Rosebeck (RN). He is also survived by nieces, nephews.
