He was predeceased by: his parents, Engelbert Stys and Rosemarie Stys; his sister Susan Lawrence (Walter); and his siblings-in-law, Dale Wagner, Kathleen Wagner and Judy Wagner.

He is survived by: his wife Marilyn Schoenhaar; his stepchildren, Patrick Schoenhaar and Lynn Rozenberger (Chris); his grandchildren, Henry and Daniella Rozenberger; his siblings, Anthony Stys, Mary Ann Meyers (Kurt) and Christine Stys; his siblings-in-law, Daniel Jr. Wagner (Mary Ann), Rosalyn Plourde (Remie), David Wagner (Nancy), Dennis Wagner (Jackie), Mary Wagner and Geralyn Unger (Larry); and his friend Dean Siegl. He is also survived by nieces, nephews.
