He was predeceased by: his parents, James B. Johnson and Gladys Johnson (Berg); his in-laws, Duke and Jean Wilkins; his sister Evelyn; and his siblings-in-law, Lester Kastenschmidt and Valerie Wilkins.
He is survived by: his cousin Philip Jostad; his wife Cristi Johnson; his children, Scott Johnson and Laurie Zabel (Jon); and his granddaughters, Danyana Johnson, Erica Cudo (Cody) and Kayla Zabel (Devin Sutton). He is also survived by many brothers- and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the West Salem American Legion Post 51 in Al's honor.
