It is with sadness that the passing of Arlan J. Gilbertson of West Salem, Wisconsin is shared. Arlan, born on September 23, 1932, passed away on September 22, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, John Gilbertson and Gena Gilbertson (Pedersen); his wife Leona (Johnson); his brothers, Murven Gilbertson (Annie) and Harvey Gilbertson (Evelyn); his brothers-in-law, Donald Johnson (Myra) and Clifford Johnson (Jody); his sons-in-law, John Engebrecht and Steven Polzin; his niece Theresa Ellinghuysen; and his nephew Donald Gilbertson.
He is survived by: his daughters, Debby Young (Joe) of Bryan, Diane Engebrecht (Rick Brown) of Coon Valley and Tammy Morley (Kevin) of Eau Claire, Wis.; his grandchildren, Suzanne Marquardt (Jason) of Houston, Matthew Young (Codi) of Bryan Texas, Marie Tutlewski (John) of Onalaska, Ryan Polzin of Altoona and Tyler Polzin of Eau Clarie, Wis.; his great grandchildren, Jasmine Tutlewski of La Crosse, Kayla Tutlewski of Onalaska, Jackson and Brooks Marquardt of Houston, Texas; his sister-in-law Lois Johnson; Jean Schmidt. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, September 29th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Our Savior's Lutheran Church (395 Leonard St N, West Salem, WI 54669). A memorial service was held on Tuesday, September 29th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Our Savior's Lutheran Church, the West Salem Historical Society, the Bangor Scholarship Fund, or a charity of the donor's choice.
