He was predeceased by : his parents, Wilfred Pettis and Ethel Pettis (Braaten); and his siblings, Eunice Emswiler, Elaine Alward-Dunlap, Eldon, Lyle and Charlie Pettis.
He is survived by : his wife Gladys Smith; and his children, Michael Pettis Rice, Gary Pettis (Debbie), Norman Pettis (Joanie Otterness), Della Indahl, Vickie Bangsberg (Mike), Brenda Smith and Bonnie Sweeny (Bob). He is also survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
