It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Meryl J Kirkeng of West Salem, Wisconsin, born in Monroe, Wisconsin, who passed away on January 18, 2024, at the age of 98, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by : her parents, Henry Manke and Edith Manke (Sveum); her husband Sidney Kirkeng; her siblings, Luane Manke and Loraine Olson; her son Roger Kirkeng; her daughter-in-law Marilyn Kirkeng (Ghelfi); and her great grandchildren, Nathaniel Crogan and Evangeline Bauer.
She is survived by : her children, Andy Kirkeng (Jean) of Gillette, Diane Johnson of West Salem, WI, Betty Schmidt (Ron) of La Crosse, WI and Bruce Kirkeng of Sparta, WI; her sisters, Elmae Holte and Linda Manke; her grandchildren, Jackie Kirkeng Crogan, Jessica Hauser (Jared), Kristi Parent (Tom), Ashley Bauer (Dave), Anthony Schmidt, Cody Kirkeng (Heather), Dustin Johnson and Tyler Johnson; and her great grandchildren, Zachary Crogan, Nick Crogan, Joshua Hauser, Jaxson Hauser, Carlie Jones, Kendall Burkhamer, Kyler Burkhamer, Arya Bauer, Phoenix Bauer, Stella Schmidt, Ryker Kirkeng, Brooks Kirkeng and Laken Kirkeng. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
