Jennie Rose Plaster Obituary

A long-time resident of Whitefish Bay, entered into eternal life on May 12, 2025, at the age of 90. Preceded in death by Robert, her beloved husband of 64 years; loving mother of Gary (Beverly) Plaster, Larry (Rega) Plaster, and Jeffrey (Judy) Plaster; very proud Nana of Stephanie Plaster, Jeffrey (Chelsi) Plaster, Elizabeth (Kevin) Madsen, Katherine Plaster (Eric Su), Madeline Plaster (Marcus Meston), and Gary Plaster. Jennie is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Also preceded in death by her parents Salvatore and Rose Rao and beloved sister Anna (Mirco) Sivilotti, and brothers John (Clara) Rao and Joseph (Betty) Rao.

Jennie was born in Milwaukee to Sicilian immigrants in 1935. She spent her childhood in Milwaukee and moved to Whitefish Bay after marriage. Jennie graduated from Lincoln High School in Milwaukee where she earned Valedictorian honors. After high school, Jennie met Bob, the love of her life. They were married in 1956 and honeymooned in Niagara Falls. Jennie would later have a long career working with kids at both Richards School and Dominican High School.

Jennie was a selfless woman of strong faith, warm heart and had a great sense of humor. Her life was centered around her family, food, flowers and her faith.

She was happiest when surrounded by her family. Holidays, birthdays and other milestones were celebrated at the family home or the cottage in Tichigan. Jennie provided a strong moral foundation for her sons. She could always be counted on to say and do the right thing with a happy smile and a generous soul.

Jennie's greatest joy was in being a Nana! She was extremely proud of all of her grandchildren. Her patience and kindness was unmatched. Many days were spent with the grandchildren on field trips to the Domes, Zoo, Museum, Old World Wisconsin and other historical sites around the state.

Jennie's cooking and baking skills were legendary. Food was her love language and also the centerpiece for all family gatherings. Christmas was the highlight as Jennie and Bob would bake 100+ dozen Italian Christmas cookies and joyously distribute them to family, neighbors and co-workers. Her kitchen was always open. All guests were required to sit around the kitchen table and enjoy food and fellowship.

Jennie also had a passion for gardening. Her yard bloomed from early spring until late fall. Winter was spent perusing the Breck's catalog in anticipation of warmer weather. In her later years, Jennie enjoyed the quiet beauty of her yard. She spent many hours enjoying the garden and chatting with friends and neighbors.

Jennie was a 60+ year member of the United Methodist Church of Whitefish Bay. She spent many years teaching Sunday School and playing the piano for the classes. Jennie would find comfort in reading the bible. She passed peacefully knowing that she was soon to enter the Kingdom of Heaven.

Jennie's family would like to extend sincere gratitude to her special friend, Ann Tybinko for her friendship and loving care. Aslo sincere thanks to Silverado Memory Care, Ascension-CSM and Lawless Hospice Care.

The funeral will be held Saturday, May 24th at Wisconsin Memorial Park Chapel of the Chimes (13235 W. Capitol Dr., Brookfield WI). Visitation will begin at 10 am with a service to follow at 11 am.
