With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Katherine Koenig of Whitefish Bay, Wisconsin, born in West Bend, Wisconsin, who passed away on January 14, 2026 at the age of 78. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Richard "Rich" Koenig; her parents, Jac Anderson and Kay Anderson (O'Neill); her brothers, J. Stephen Anderson and Christopher Anderson; her parents-in-law, Marvin and Rosilie Koenig (Mauel); her siblings-in-law, Christine Palmer, Eric Smithback, Terry Trepte and George Palmer; and her nephew Steven Trepte.
She is survived by: her sons, Mark Koenig (Janeen Hayward), Brian Koenig (Haley Papageorge) and Luke Koenig (Sheila); her grandchildren, Scarlett, Tallulah, James and Greta; her sisters, Susan Barrow (Bruce), Martha Smithback and Sara Powell; and her siblings-in-law, Barbara Anderson, Cheryl Anderson, Sue Trepte, Diane Koenig and Al Koenig.
In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to the Cure Alzheimer's Fund (Cure Alzheimer's fund), a non-profit organization dedicated to funding research with the highest probability of preventing, slowing, or reversing Alzheimer's disease.
