She was predeceased by: her parents, Chester "Guy" Steig and Irene Steig (John); her siblings, Joy Wiedenhoeft (Wayne), GordonSteig and Ken Steig; and her close friend Mike "Mikey" Zielinski.

She is survived by: her husband Paul; her son Eric (Jessica); her granddaughters, Liliana Scheel (Elijah), Rylee and Ella; and her brother Gaylen Steig. She is also survived by her husband, son, granddaughters, family, friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Ellen's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or First English Lutheran Church in Whitewater, Wisconsin.
