He was loved and cherished by many people including : his parents, Less and Mabel; his brothers, William and Kenneth "Jake" Lessig; his wife Judith Ann Lessig; his nieces and nephews, Laurie Zoerb (Eric), Lisa McCauley (Mark), Linda Swiggum (Wayne), Leann Lessig, Chris Lessig (Amy Severson), Chip Cunningham (Sandy), Shannon Cunningham, Kelly Cunningham-Bowers (Roger), Anastasia Pelot and Stephen Pelot; and his siblings-in-law, Steve Pelot and Judith M. Lessig.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to a charity of choice in Gary's honor, continuing his spirit of giving and community service.
