He is survived by: his children, Sandra Jeltema (Paul), Mary Ylvisaker (Eric), Dale Smits (Kim) and Dan Smits (Gwen); his son-in-law Les Robinson; his grandchildren, Amy Friesema (Jon), Eric Jeltema (Erin), Kara Martin (Jay), Sara Coder (Kevin), Brian Robinson (Sarah), Luke Ylvisaker (Amy), Tyler Ylvisaker (Stephanie), Tanner Ylvisaker (Emily), Jack Smits, Joe Smits, Isabella Moritz (Billy), Abigail Daoheuang (Sonny) and Ava Smits; and his sisters-in-law, Ruth Mentink, Melva Smits and Betty DePagter. He is also survived by 20 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Herman-Taylor Funeral Home (2201 Chestnut St, Wisconsin Rapids, WI 54494). A funeral service was held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
