Ralph D. Vancil Obituary

Ralph Dean Vancil, age 69, of Wisconsin Rapids, passed away peacefully Sunday, December 13, 2020 at his residence.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Ralph was born in Beloit, WI on October 9, 1951 in to James and Dorothy (Franklin) Vancil. He graduated from Beloit Memorial High School in 1969 where he also completed ROTC. He studied Wildlife Management/Biology at UWSP.

Ralph was an avid hunter and fisherman with a passion for the outdoors and wildlife. You could always find him at local establishments singing karaoke. Some of his favorite songs to sing were: “You Make Me Feel Like Dancin,” "Banana Boat Song" and "Escape (The Piña Colada Song)." Ralph never paid full price for anything, he was one of the best bargain shoppers that ever walked this earth! He enjoyed the company and the conversations of others. He was the kind of man that would give you the shirt off of his back. Ralph especially enjoyed his time in Belize and had hopes of one day moving there.

Ralph is survived by his brothers, Floyd (Barbara) Vancil of Granton, Charles (Jackie) Vancil of Arpin, Shorty (Kathleen) Vancil of Nekoosa and sister Julie Kurz of Marshfield; nephews and nieces, Adam (Stephanie) Vancil, William (Sara) Vancil, Tiffany (Josh) Scott, and Heather Vancil; great nephews and niece, Ash Vancil, Alexus and Jameson Scott. He is further survived by dear friends who he considered his family as well, Jon and Molly Noth, Jerry and Pam Mitchell, and Mark Kneuston and significant other. Ralph is preceded in death by his parents James and Dorothy Vancil and infant brother Robert Daniel Vancil.

"In this, we see the measure of the man -
a hunter, fisher, explorer and friend;
his stories we will continue to share,
and comfort find by end."
