He was predeceased by : his parents, Fred Byington and Helen Byington; his in-laws, Harold and Rosella Dettman; his son-in-law Larry Richmond; and his brothers, Norman Byington and Casey Byington (Denese).

He is survived by : his wife Sally Byington of Wonewoc; his children, Mike Byington (Tammy) of La Crosse and Heather Richmond of Las Vegas; his grandchildren, Bradley Byington (Ashlee), Breanna Fritz (Maxwell), Brodyn Byington (Laura), Max Byington, Mallory Flogel (Rob) and Isabella Richmond; his great grandchildren, Jade Cresswell, Cora Byington and Mara Fritz; and his sisters-in-law, Janice Byington and Chris Dittman.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, May 1st 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Grace Community Church (208 N East St, Wonewoc, WI 53968). A memorial service was held on Wednesday, May 1st 2024 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
