She was predeceased by : her parents, Eugene Smith and Erma Smith (Ross); her siblings, Eunice Gordish (Andy), Alma Schlumbohm (Clifford), Gale Smith and Loren Smith; her nephews, Ricky Smith and Eddie Reisman; her brothers-in-law, Leo Butler and Melvin Peterson; and her stepgranddaughter Amelia Butler.

She is survived by : her former life partner Wayne Klug; her husband Richard "Dick" Butler; her children, Shelley Palmer (Steve) of Granger, IA, Tim Klug (Marsha) of Des Moines, IA, Lori Dunse (Joe Ott) of Reedsburg and Dave Butler (Marci) of Lake Geneva; her grandchildren, Sharaya and Savanna Palmer; her stepgrandchildren, Tiffany, Sean Belieu, Aaron Conrad, Victoria Stabnow (Mathew), Alyssa Dunse, Mike, Ayhla, Pandora, Skyler, Uriel, Adeline, Logan and Morgan Butler; her stepgreat-grandchildren, Atlas Butler, Viktor, Natalia and Lucas Stabnow; her brothers, Vern Smith (Julie) and Dwight Smith (Charyl Lynn); her sisters-in-law, Virginia Mitchell, Diana Smith and Elaine Butler; and her close friend Patsy Manny.
