He is survived by: his wife Lena Sanson of Amherstdale; his children, Amanda Sanson of Amherstdale, Amy Bunch (Brad) of Kistler, Jacob Sanson of Amherstdale, Haley Ellis (Billy) of Verner, Ashton Sanson (Madison) of Accoville and Chloe Sanson of Amherstdale; his grandchildren, Emma Maynard of Kistler, Maci Bunch of Kistler, Isaac and Ava Mullins of Chapmanville; his siblings, Rev. Cecil "Sam" Samson (Janet) of Gardner, KS, Chris Johnston of Crown, Carmelita Osborn (Kenny) of Truman, OH, Alta Sue Adkins (Norman), Patricia O'Neal of Oceana, Hope Johnson of Accoville and Donna Rae Hall (Donald); and his friends, Charlie Johnston of Huntington, Gene Elkins (Jane), Rev. Dewey Lusk (Ginger) of Robinette, Eddie Ellis (Summer) of Amherstdale and Rev. David Gibson (Ann) of Robinette. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, along with a host of other relatives, church family, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 22nd 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home, Inc. (115 Market St, Man, WV 25635). A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, October 22nd 2026 from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the same location.
