She was predeceased by: her parents, Basil Stephen Bird Sr. and June Alva Moore Bird; her husband George Edward Stuart Jr.; and her great grandchild Kairi Jade. She is survived by: her children, Alan Hawkins (Tara), Andy Hawkins (Kathy), Char Mitchell (Casey), Valerie Nichols and Kristi Lemasters (Pat); her stepchildren, Jennifer Walper (Eric), Timothy Stuart and Michelle Rawlison (Keith); and her siblings, Robert Bird (Joyce), Wendy Bird and Julie Turpin (Bill). She is also survived by nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A procession was held on Wednesday, September 23rd 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Cemetery Are Asked. A graveside service was held on Wednesday, September 23rd 2026 at 11:00 AM at the West Virginia National Cemetery (42 Veterans Memorial Ln, Grafton, WV 26354).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to assist the family with Iris's funeral expenses on her memorial care fund located on her memorial page.
