With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Marlene Gay McCarty of Apple Grove, West Virginia, who passed away on July 23, 2025 at the age of 74. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Riley Edmonds and Rosa Edmonds (Black); and her brothers, Keith, Garrett, David and Ernest Edmonds.
She is survived by: her husband Ronald McCarty; her sons, Bill Stover (Frances) and Joe Stover (Sabrina); her stepchildren, Ron McCarty (Darlene), Jeff McCarty (Sharon), Tim McCarty (Lori) and Beth Lanier; her grandchildren, Teona Stover, Latosha Legg (Albert), Laykin Stoneback (Andrew), Tanner Stover (Emily), Kelsi White (Taylor), TJ McCarty (Brenna), Jessica Smith (Corey) and Matthew Bichard; her friend Myah Litchfield; and her siblings, Frank Edmonds (Linda), Sharon Edmonds, Carolyn Cobb, Steve Edmonds (Wanda), Donald Edmonds (Linda), Robin Richardson (Wayne) and Ellen Jane Robertson. She is also survived by 26 great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Saturday, July 26th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Wilcoxen Funeral Home (2226 Jackson Ave, Point Pleasant, WV 25550). A funeral service was held on Saturday, July 26th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
