He was predeceased by : his parents, Paul B. Compton and Exie Shelton Compton; and his brother Gene Compton. He is survived by : his wife Caroline Maxine Barnett Compton; his children, Katrina Caywood, Craig Compton (Kathy), William "Billy" Compton, Jennifer Sizemore (Mark), Joey Compton (Sissy), Bill and Caroline; his grandchildren, Lilia and Braidyn Sizemore; and his brothers, Ronnie Compton (Annette) and Jack Compton (Roni).
