He was predeceased by: his parents, James R. Haines and Margaret L. Hott Haines; and his brother William "Bill" Haines. He is survived by: his wife Patricia A. Michael; his sister Elaine Tyndall of Wendell, NC; his half-brother James R. Hott (Louann) of Capon Bridge, WV; his nephew Adam Doman (Kimberly) of Roxboro, NC; and his niece Kristi Harp of Youngsville, NC.
