He was predeceased by : his parents, Ira Nelson Bolyard and Nellie Viola Bolyard (Stieringer); his wife Mary Bolyard (Waybright); his stepson Thomas Simmons; and his former life partner Patricia.

He is survived by : his stepdaughter Vesta Gank; his stepdaughter-in-law Menjil Simmons; and his stepson Larry Simmons. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
